FPM ( Financial Portofolio Management system )

FPM Back Office
Back Office Module provides the foundation on which all FPM Modules are integrated. FPM Back Office can handle all types of securities. FPM Back Office integrates transparently with the Order Management, Compliance, General Ledger and Performance Measurement and Attribution Modules. FPM has powerful cash management functions integrated with trade capture, dividend distribution, foreign exchange and general ledger transactions. Projected cash balances can be viewed in real time enabling the users to keep a close watch on liquidity and credit limits at pre-trade stage. FPM can handle all types of bonds. Portfolios can be analysed by user defined maturity and yield bands and weight average life, duration, maturity yield. FPM can handle time deposits. Placements, maturities and roll-overs are automatically posted into the General Ledger. FPM has comprehensive functionality for handling equities. Corporate actions and dividend entitlements can be processed swiftly across multiple client portfolios with a few mouse clicks. FPM can handle all types of derivatives. Accounting functions such as P&L and fee accruals can be performed through the General Ledger Module. FPM can handle spot and forward foreign exchange transactions. Forward positions can be valued in a portfolio along with other investments.
Order Management
FPM Order Management Module is designed for the front office where a group of traders/investment managers are executing trades in accordance with company wide or client specific investment guidelines. The Order Management Module integrates with the Compliance and Back Office Modules. Trades can be sent to the back office electronically. Dealers can record the detail of orders and track the confirmation process on the deal pad. The status of the orders can be monitored across all workstations in the dealing room. The module enables dealers to share a common database with the back office and provides on-line access to client actual cash and investment positions and limits. Deals are verified for being in compliance with client mandates at pre-order stage. Intended and Actual Allocations are distributed to clients automatically. Allocated deals are sent to the back office electronically for the computation of contract details (charges, commissions, etc), for printing the contract notes and to start the settlement process.
Compliance
Compliance Module allows users to define a flexible range of compliance rules for monitoring client and investment policy mandates. Rules can be defined in accordance with UCITS III directive on investment spreads or in terms of user defined portfolio segments (eg segments by instrument, sector, currency, country, etc). The module can also be used for setting up model portfolios (target asset allocation matrix) comprising multi-instrument / multi-currency investments. The module works for multi-instrument portfolios including equities, bonds and derivatives (asset allocation take derivative exposures into account.The module can be used pro-actively with the Order Management Module to warn limit breaches at pre-trade entry stage. The module is founded on a relational data structure whereby standardised rules can be applied across the board for portfolios or composites.
Performance Measurement & Attribution
Performance Measurement & Attribution Module provides sophisticated functionality in full compliance with AIMR-GIPS rules. Transactions are read directly from the Back Office Module and requires no additional inputs. Prices, exchange rates and indices are retrieved automatically from you preferred data vendor(s) with the Data Feed Module. The module is founded on a flexible archicture which can be configured by the users themselves to particular requirements. Users can define their own portfolio segments, composites and benchmarks. Movements are time weighted automatically in accordance with AIMR-GIPS standards. The Performance Module interfaces with the Graphics Module to produce presentation quality graphs which can be included in the Client Report Book .
General Ledger
The General Ledger Module provides multi-currency / multi-instrument accounting functionality by integrating with the financial instrument modules. The GL Module takes its input from the transaction databases and requires no further input. Multi-currency / multi-instrument financial reports are produced from the transaction database by means of a combination of user defined journals and system journals. The multi-company Chart of Accounts can be fully configured by the user. Functions are available for downloading data to Oracle Financials
Client Relationship Management
CRM Module comprises a number of functions that enables pro-active management of client portfolios. Client investment guidelines can be captured in conjunction with the Compliance Module and pre-trade warnings are given in case of breach. Management fees and trade commissions can be computed. Client Report Books can be printed automatically at required intervals. Client Report Books can be output to Acrobat PDF files for electronic transmission of reports through the Outlook Interface. Client Report Books can also contain graphics representing asset allocation and performance over user defined time intervals. Client Report Books can be saved electronically in by integrated Document Management functions.
Data Feeds
Interfaces are available to a number of data feed providers including Bloomberg Data Licence and FT Select. The selection of service is left to the user but the common objective of the interface is to download prices, exchange rates and corporate actions into the FPM database. The frequency of the update and the delivery method depends on the particular service.
Bloomberg Data License is a request based service working interactively on the Internet. FPM provides a direct and fully automated interface to Bloomberg Data Licence (per Security) service through internet FTP calls. Downloaded data items are automatically mapped into the appropriate FPM tables. Any data item can be downloaded for any international security including Daily and Historical Prices, Exchange Rates, Indices, Corporate Actions and Dividends.

WebFPM & Remote FPM
WebFPM is an internet browser which provides access to pre-published FPM reports. With WebFPM, clients / users may view / download reports on-line. Reports can be published automatically through FPM's Report Scheduler function.RemoteFPM provides full Internet connectivity to the FPM system via a thin client platform (such as Citrix or Windows Terminal Services). It is also posisble to provide mixed access to FPM system where some users continue accessing via the usual LAN connection while others connect remotely over the Internet via RemoteFPM.
